Liverpool fullback Andy Robertson has addressed his uncertain future at the club after holding talks.

Liverpool left-back Andrew Robertson has held talks with the club about his future but insists he welcomes the competition likely to arrive this summer in the form of Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez.

The 31-year-old Scotland captain is entering the final year of his contract and endured an inconsistent season in Liverpool's title-winning campaign under Arne Slot.

Following long-time teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold's contract completion, and joining Real Madrid, Robertson may have to contend with reduced playing time, but the Scotsman remains positive.

"We've had good talks with the club, but I'm not sure what the future holds," Robertson told Sky Sports News regarding his contract.

"I need a rest after a long season, and then I'm looking forward to pre-season, that's all I'm focused on. I can't look too far ahead. I've never done that, so I'm not going to start now," he added.

"I know the position I'm in, with only a year left, there's been a lot of talk, but my full focus is on being a dad for the next few weeks and enjoying that time with the kids."

Regarding the potential arrival of 21-year-old Hungarian international Kerkez, he noted that his arrival would strengthen the squad.

"The club has identified certain positions they want to strengthen. It seems the players we've been linked with are younger players, and they're all exciting prospects," said Robertson.

"When you play for a big club like Liverpool, you expect challenges, you expect competition, and I've always relished that."
