Reports indicate the talks are advancing quite well after the expiration of the contracts of two players.

Gor Mahia are in talks with the club's key players whose contracts elapsed after the 2022-2023 Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) season.

Dennis Ng'ang'a and Austin Odhiambo are reportedly both out of contract and are in talks over a possible extension as K'Ogalo are keen to keep them.

Ng'ang'a is subject of interest from Zambian Super League side Zanaco, but a move may not be possible given that Gor Mahia are eager to retain him. He was part of the defensive unit that won the Premier League and is expected to play an important role going forward.

Famously known as Baggio, Ng'ang'a signed for Gor Mahia in 2021 from Wazito and has gone on to prove his worth for the giants. With the talks ongoing, fans would hope that the club and the central defender would agree on an extended deal given how well he has performed for the giants.

Gor Mahia have also opened talks with Odhiambo, who was one of the creative forces in the team that wrestled the title from Tusker.

After his controversial move from arch rivals AFC Leopards in 2021, Odhiambo went on to establish himself as an undisputed first-teamer for Gor Mahia under different coaches.

He is one of the most outstanding creative midfielders in the country, and losing him will be seen as a big blow for K'Ogalo ahead of next season, where they will also participate in the CAF Champions League.

The reigning champions are struggling to get Tyson Otieno, Odhiambo's big brother and will not want to gamble and let one of their top talents leave as a free agent.

The heavyweights had been massively linked with Otieno, but Police are understood to have entered into a deal to sign the Kariobangi Sharks midfielder.
