Gor Mahia's new regime have sounded a warning to foreign players as the club eyes dominance both on local and continental levels.

Gor Mahia's new regime has sounded the alarm for foreign players as the club looks to extend its local dominance onto the continental stage.

The FKF Premier League champions have not had as much success on the continental stage as they do locally.

Boasting 21 league titles, Gor Mahia is Kenya's most decorated team.

However, that dominance is yet to be replicated on the continental stage.

The Kenyan champions now hope to change that with proper recruitment of foreign players.

Gor Mahia’s Plan for Continental Dominance

Gor Mahia are chasing a record-extending 22nd title.

Gor Mahia’s new Secretary General, Nick Arum, has laid down the gauntlet on foreign players, promising change during his tenure in office.

Arum, who edged out former SG Sam Ochola during the Gor Mahia elections on April 13, has promised an overhaul in the squad.

“We have to revisit the playing unit. That one, I cannot cheat you. There are some players who do not deserve to be in Gor Mahia, and that I have to tell you without blinking an eye,” said Arum, as quoted by Mozzart Sport.

“There are some foreigners who do not deserve to be there. Some of those foreign players cannot make it to the second eleven, let alone the first eleven,” he added.

Among the foreign players at Gor Mahia are Ghanaian midfielder Enock Morison, Congolese striker Gedeon Bendeka, and Ugandan striker Charles Bbaale.

Gor Mahia have a history of success with foreign players, among them Rwandan footballer Jacques Tuyisenge, Ugandan striker Dan Sserunkuma, and fellow countryman Khalid Aucho.

Gor Mahia will hope to strike gold as they have done in previous seasons, as they aim for continental dominance.
