Tusker FC's Boniface Onyango warns league leaders Gor Mahia ahead of crucial FKF Premier League clash

Tusker FC defender Boniface ‘Kajos’ Onyango has issued a bold challenge to league leaders Gor Mahia signaling a fiery encounter in the upcoming FKF Premier League clash.

The highly anticipated match, scheduled for Saturday at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos, is set to be a definitive moment in this season's league race.

The Brewers, currently in third place with 31 points, are looking to close the nine-point gap with Gor Mahia. In an interview ahead of the clash, Onyango expressed confidence in his team's preparation and mindset.

"So far, our preparations have been good. Each and every person is focused on the next game. Tomorrow's (Saturday) match is a test of mental strength, and I believe we are ready for it," he stated.

Tusker's recent form has been nothing short of impressive, with the team having secured six wins in their last eight games, including a stunning 5-0 victory over KCB. Their momentum continued with a 3-1 triumph over Sofapaka FC last weekend.

Onyango believes this run has instilled a new level of confidence in the team.

"We have gained a lot of confidence going into the match. In the last two games, we've scored more goals than our opponents in tomorrow's match. We can score even more," he added.

Acknowledging Gor Mahia's strength, Onyango remarked, "I think from their side, they also have had a good run. They are confident. But again, if they are facing a strong team like Tusker, and we are more compact, I think we will come out stronger than them. Yes, for sure, in Saturday's match we have to win to reduce the gap between us and them."

Under the guidance of veteran coach Robert Matano, Tusker FC has not only shown their prowess in attack but also demonstrated a solid defensive line, a key factor in their recent successes.

The team's balanced approach has been a cornerstone of their strategy, blending experienced players with youthful energy.

As the league passes its halfway mark, Nairobi City Stars hold the second spot, turning the league into a three-horse race.

The upcoming match is more than just a battle for points; it is a statement of intent from Tusker FC to the rest of the league.

A win against Gor Mahia would not only reduce the points gap but also send a strong message about their title aspirations.

For Gor Mahia, the match is equally critical as a victory would solidify their position at the top and fend off the increasing pressure from their closest rivals.
