Kenya Police huffed and puffed but could not get the winning goal during their 1-1 draw with Muhoroni Youth.

In the aftermath of Kenya Police's recent 1-1 draw with Muhoroni Youth, interim head coach Salim Babu has expressed frustration at the fact his side could only settle for a point, hindering their challenge for the league title.

The coach expressed disappointment with the team's initial performance, acknowledging that a slow start allowed Muhoroni Youth to settle in and secure an early lead.

According to Babu, this setback made the game more challenging for the Law Enforcers.

"We started very badly because the opponents settled and scored an early goal and made things difficult for ourselves."

Babu emphasized that the team failed to execute their game plan effectively, preventing them from securing all three points. Playing against a struggling team that took the lead and defended, he noted the difficulty in unsettling such opponents.

The coach had opted to make a few changes before the match, including starting January Tanzanian signing Rashid Mchelenga over golden boot chaser Tito Okello, while Duncan Otieno was also handed a rare start.

The coach shed light on the squad rotation strategy employed, explaining that it aimed to give opportunities to players who had been performing well in training.

“We rotated the squad because we felt players like Rashid Mchelenga had been training well. Tito Okello has been through a little dry spell, but it was generally difficult for the team on the day, so we struggled.

Addressing the performance of David ‘Messi’ Owino, who returned to the club from Taiwan after they failed to give him his blessing to trial with Tainan City, Owino said, "He has tried. We changed his position. The team has generally not played well, but I am optimistic everyone will return to full fitness."

Babu's optimism suggests a belief in the team's potential to bounce back and regain full form.

The acknowledgment of challenges faced during the game and the strategic decisions made demonstrates the coach's commitment to finding solutions and improving the team's overall performance.

As Kenya Police looks ahead to future matches, the coach's insights provide fans with a glimpse into the team's challenges and the ongoing efforts to address them, fostering a sense of hope and anticipation for better results in the upcoming fixtures.
