Amad Diallo has urged fans to remain patient as he expresses confidence in Manchester United's progress under Ruben Amorim.

With no European football this season, Manchester United is fully focused on a strong Premier League performance and a return to the Champions League in 2026/27.

Amad Diallo confirmed this after the first pre-season friendly, a goalless draw with Leeds in Stockholm, but urged fans to be patient.

Last season, Manchester United endured a torrid Premier League campaign, finishing a distant 15th with just 42 points. The Red Devils also failed to impress in the Europa League final, losing 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur and failing to secure a place in the Champions League next season.

"I think the fans need to be patient with us. We have a new manager, new players, and new tactics. We know last season wasn't good for the team, but I think this season we'll achieve a lot with him (Ruben Amorim)," he said after the match in Sweden, highlighting the main objective for the season.

Amad Diallo hopes that Manchester United will achieve good results next season, adding that a successful season would be finishing in the top five.

He recalled that last season, the top five teams qualified for the Champions League due to the strong performance of English clubs in Europe, while also praising Matheus Cunha.

Manchester United officially unveiled Matheus Cunha following a £62.5m transfer from Wolves. Last season, Wolves finished in 16th place in the Premier League table.

"We need good players, and he will contribute a lot to the team. I hope he'll give us something different. Especially last season, we lacked good players in forward positions. He scored a lot of goals last season, so I wish him all the best," he said, also commenting on the signing of Bryan Mbemo, which is not yet official.

"Of course, I can't wait to play with him. We need good players in the team who can contribute in attack. We're very excited to have them in the squad, and I hope that together we can give something back to the fans at the end of the season, because they deserve it."

With a reinforced squad, Manchester United will be hoping to make an impact in the Premier League and hopefully qualify for the Champions League in the 2026/27 season.
