AFC Leopards is gearing up for a bigger gala awards ceremony this year, featuring expanded categories and a focus on celebrating the club's heritage.
The event, scheduled for July 21-26 in Bungoma town, will include new awards for Ingwe Legends as part of a loyalty program.

Harambee Stars coach Benni McCarthy is among those feeling the pain after his hometown club, which gave him first head coach job, suffered relegation in South Africa.
Olympia Musonye, representing the U45 United Branch, explained that the branch is partnering with the Bungoma County Government to recognize outstanding performances from the 2024/25 season.
The theme, "Our Culture, Our Pride: Showcasing Kenya through football and Cuisine," reflects the club's cultural significance.
This is the second time the U45 United Branch is hosting the awards.
Categories include Player of the Season, Players' Player of the Season, Fans' Player of the Season, Fan of the Year, Branch of the Year, and Emerging Star, in addition to the new Ingwe Legends awards.

Last year's awards saw Victor Omune take home KSh175,000 in prize money, winning both Player of the Season (KSh100,000) and Players' Player of the Season (KSh75,000).
Kayci Odhiambo earned KSh85,000 as the Fan’s Player of the Season, while the Executive Branch received KSh50,000 as Branch of the Season.
This year's gala will also feature a tree planting initiative and a "Cultural Food Court" showcasing diverse Kenyan cuisines, music, dance, and storytelling.
Musonye also announced an inter-county tournament for up-and-coming players.
Shikanda Urges Peaceful Elections

Club patron Alex Muteshi emphasized the event's importance, thanking the Bungoma County Government for their partnership and expressing hopes for a title challenge next season.
Meanwhile, club chairman Dan Shikanda urged members to elect capable officials in the upcoming club elections scheduled for July 29 at the Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani in Nairobi.
Shikanda, having served since 2019, is ineligible to run.
