Boniface Ambani has promised to transform AFC Leopards and lead them to the FIFA Club World Cup if elected chairman.

AFC Leopards chairman aspirant Boniface Ambani has promised fans and players an unforgettable experience if elected into office on Sunday, June 29.

With the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup, Boniface Ambani has promised that fans should expect to see AFC Leopards play on that level if given two or three years in office.

This year saw four African clubs making it to the FIFA Club World Cup, including Al Ahly, Wydad AC, Esperance de Tunis and Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Confederation of African Football allocated the four most recent CAF Champions League winners, Al Ahly (2021, 2022, 2024) and Wydad AC (2023), an automatic spot.

The remaining two spots were then determined by a ranking system that considered results over the last four seasons.

However, with Boniface Ambani in office, Kenya might see a local team making it to the FIFA Club World Cup despite things looking unrealistic at the moment.

Boniface Ambani: I Need More Time

Boniface Ambani revealed that he will start by signing formidable players who will withstand the pressure and bring glory to the club in the long run.

“We need to sit and organise things well and look for players who are able to withstand the pressure that comes with playing for AFC Leopards,” Boniface Ambani said during the unveiling of his manifesto.

“I need a little more time to put everything in order, and after two or three seasons, we shall be playing in the FIFA Club World Cup.”

Boniface Ambani added that Kenyan clubs have always suffered from poor leadership, and he wants to be a trailblazer in making the change.

He pointed out that with great leadership, football fans will be able to enjoy the game, and the players will always show up when it matters.

AFC Leopards last won the KPL title in 1998, and the FKF Cup in 2017, but Boniface Ambani has since promised that things are about to change.

“I believe in myself, I believe in what I can do. I’ve done it, it’s not rocket science. It’s a challenge, and I want all the AFC Leopards’ fans and all fans in the country to enjoy football again,” Boniface Ambani said.

“Our football is always affected by the club leadership, and we need to change that to make things better. I must admit that now it’s time for AFC Leopards to become champions…it’s just a matter of time before the fans start enjoying football.”

Boniface Ambani will battle out for the chairmanship alongside former club Commercial Director Enos Mutoka.
