“The race was good despite encountering a problem but I managed to push. I know I can go beyond that…I’m satisfied with my results today because you know I’m just taking a step at a time.

“I want to build up on this ahead of my next event…the meet was a great one and this is actually my second time here,” Were said.

During last year’s edition of the event, Were also finished third in the race. He had opened his indoor tour with a fourth-place finish at the Meeting Indoor Nantes Métropole and ended it at the Mondeville Meeting.

In a previous interview, Were highlighted the importance of starting the season with the indoor tour and he is taking every aspect of his indoor tour seriously.

“I’m doing indoors because last season it really helped me out. That was my first time and I thank God because I was able to get my speed and learn how guys can execute the race well.

“When I came back, I started doing very well because it was a good start and it prepares me for the outdoor races,” Were said.
