Shericka Jackson has broken her silence after winning the Racers Grand Prix 200m title.

Shericka Jackson has broken her silence after winning the 200m title at the Racers Grand Prix on Saturday, June 7, at the National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica.

The two-time world 200m champion is slowly finding her way back after an injury setback forced her to miss the remainder of her 2024 season and the Paris Olympic Games.

Shericka Jackson bounced back into competition with 60m races in Jamaica, more than six months after her injury. She pulled up an injury at the 2024 edition of the Gyulai István Memorial, a Hungarian Athletics Grand Prix in July.

Shericka Jackson proceeded to finish second at the Diamond League Meeting in Xiamen before competing at the World Athletics Relays, where she anchored Jamaica’s 4x100m relay team to a bronze medal.

She claimed her first win of the season at the Diamond League Meeting in Rabat before extending her hot streak to the Racers Grand Prix.

The two-time world 100m silver medallist has been silent since the start of the season, but following her triumph at the Racers Grand Prix, she expressed optimism ahead of the long season.

At the Racers Grand Prix, the Jamaican clocked a stunning season’s best time of 22.53 seconds to win the women’s 200m.

She shared a short message on her Instagram page after the victory, seemingly giving her fans something to hold on to as she continues putting in the work in training.

“Work in progress,” Shericka Jackson captioned a series of photos she had taken at the Racers Grand Prix.

She has been under scrutiny after coming back from her injury, with some of her fans bashing her for not clocking fast times, but track and field legends, including Justin Gatlin, believe that she is on the right track.

Coming back from an injury is not a walk in the park for any athlete, and the message from Shericka Jackson is proof that she is doing all she can to get back to her winning ways.
