Emmanuel Eseme from Cameroon finished second in 6.61 as Arthur Cisse, a sprinter from Ivory Coast completed the podium, clocking 6.62 to cross the finish line.

The Africa 100m champion now has eyes set on another indoor race, the Indoor Meeting in Paris on February 14.

This is all in preparation ahead of his return to the World Indoor Championships scheduled for March 1 to 3 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Meanwhile, Omanyala opened his season with a 400m race in the second Athletics Kenya meet held at the Ulinzi Sports Complex where he finished fifth.

He then proceeded to the third AK meet at the Nyayo National Stadium and he competed in the 200m, clocking the fourth-fastest time in the world to win the race. He has now begun his build-up to the Olympic Games with the three international races and he certainly hopes that he will have a smooth run just like last year.

Last year, Omanyala won three out of the four races that he competed in during his indoor tour. He started with a second-place finish at the Elite Indoor Track Miramas meeting before winning the Mondeville Meeting.

He then stunned his opponents at the Meeting de Paris before winding up his indoor tour at the Meeting Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais.
