Reigning world 800m champion Mary Moraa has revealed her next big move on the Diamond League stage.

Mary Moraa’s fans have a reason to look forward to the weekend since she has confirmed where she will be competing in her first Diamond League Meeting of the season.

Mary Moraa has been in action at the Grand Slam Track, and fans have missed seeing her compete in the Diamond League circuit, but the wait is now over.

The reigning world 800m champion started her season with a double at the Grand Slam Track league debut in Kingston, Jamaica.

She finished a disappointing eighth in the women’s 800m, clocking 2:00.97 and failed to compete in the 1500m due to unavoidable circumstances.

Mary Moraa then proceeded to the fifth Athletics Kenya weekend meet, where she won the heats of the 400m and was also part of the winning team in the women’s 4x400m relay.

Moraa then went ahead to compete at the Grand Slam Track Miami, finishing eighth in the 1500m and winning the 800m. She continued her tough season with a fifth-place finish in the women’s 800m and seventh in the 1500m at the Grand Slam Track Philadelphia.

The Olympic 800m bronze medallist will now shift her targets to the Diamond League as she eyes a strong bounce back.

She has been confirmed for the Diamond League Meeting in Stockholm on Sunday, June 15, and she will be out to make a difference in the two-lap race.

“Glad to announce that I will line up for my first Diamond League this season on June 15 in Stockholm, Sweden. Praying for good health and life,” Mary Moraa shared in a post on her Facebook page.

These competitions are instrumental for the dancing queen as she looks to defend her 800m crown at the World Championships in Tokyo, Japan, in September.

Mary Moraa has struggled to make a point in her favourite event in two instances so far this season, and hopefully, the Diamond League Meeting in Stockholm will offer a chance for redemption.

On Sunday, the 24-year-old will also be celebrating her birthday and winning the race will be the perfect birthday gift.
