Devon Blake is confident that the two-time world 100m silver medallist will give fans a great show, owing to her track record.

He noted that the Racers Grand Prix always helps athletes fine-tune for major events, and this year, with the World Championships in Tokyo, Japan, in September, it will help Shericka Jackson and other sprinters know where they stand in terms of fitness.

“Shericka is one of the crowd pullers that the Jamaican public loves, so we’re looking forward to her having this opportunity to perform in front of her crowd and get her confidence up and running at tip-top shape,” he said as per Jamaica Observer.

“Racers Grand Prix comes at a time when most athletes are fine-tuning their preparations, so you get special times. Last time she competed, she ran a world-leading time, so we’re expecting much of the same.”

Blake added that having the MVP track club athletes, including Shericka Jackson and Kishane Thompson, is a testament towards their support of the event.

This year’s edition of the event has also attracted stars like Olympic champion Masai Russell, who will go head-to-head with the world record holder, Tobi Amusan. Oblique Seville will also be in the mix, looking to make a mark.

“Racers has always been a meet that the MVP club has supported, so we’re always thankful to them for that,” Blake added.

“Each year, you’ll find persons from MVP who participate, and this year is a great year where both of their top performers in Kishane and Shericka, plus we have the Clayton twins.”

The Racers Grand Prix will offer fans an opportunity to experience their stars live in action ahead of the World Championships in Tokyo, Japan.
