Noah Lyles' next move revealed after major development in boost for track and field.

Olympic champion Noah Lyles could be back in action this weekend following a major development.

The six-time world champion has been out of the spotlight for a while after he opted to maintain a low-profile and given the Diamond League meetings so far a wide berth.

However, that is bound to change if the latest development is anything to go by.

According to Track and Field Gazette X post, American Lyles will headline the 2025 Adidas Atlanta City Games on Saturday, May 17.

“Men’s 150m entries – Atlanta City Games Noah Lyles, Zharnel Hughes, Alexander Ogando, Ferdinand Omanyala, Terrence Jones.”

Held on a custom-built elevated track in Atlanta’s iconic Piedmont Park, this unique street meet will see Lyles take on the rarely run 150 meters. A perfect blend of raw power and blazing top-end speed.

Noah Lyles' return couldn’t come at a more crucial moment. Just days ago, Team USA faltered at the 2025 World Relays, suffering a shock elimination in the men’s 4x400m and a painful baton drop in the mixed 4x100m.

Once seen as a dominant force, the American squad has been reeling. But now, with Lyles back in the headlines and ready to ignite the track in Atlanta, redemption may be just one explosive run away.

Lyles won’t just line up to run. The 27-year-old who holds the American 200m record is a walking headline, a showman chasing history one explosive stride at a time.

The 150m is a hybrid distance tailor-made for a sprinter who thrives in the space between raw acceleration and top-end domination.
