"Little Bro": The Unlikely Bond Between Gout Gout and Noah Lyles

“He calls me ‘Little Bro’ so we definitely have a great connection,” Gout revealed in an interview with FOX Sports Australia as per The Mirror USA.

The bond between the two sprinters has quickly grown into a mentorship.

Despite being a decade older, Lyles has taken Gout under his wing, offering guidance and support as the teen navigates the challenges of elite competition.

“I gave him a nudge. I said in the podcast, I told him I’d be running up his a--, for sure. It's definitely great. He messages me occasionally and I tell him ‘Congratulations’ and stuff like that. He’s a great guy,” Gout added.

The camaraderie might come as a surprise to some, given that they could soon become direct rivals on the track.

But for now, Gout is soaking up the wisdom and experience shared by one of the world’s best.

“Some of it is definitely physical. I’m still a teenager and haven’t grown into my body yet,” Gout said during a recent appearance on Foxtel’s The Back Page.

From Records to Rivalries: Gout’s Meteoric Rise in Sprinting

“Still getting my grown man’s strength, as Noah would say, and just working on those little aspects, a couple of things at the start, gaining power and strength. Those little things really take you to the next level.”

Gout has already set lofty goals for the future, and his dream is to dominate the sprinting world just like Usain Bolt did.

“The goal is winning the Olympics and winning World Championships. Honestly, dominating like Bolt did. I think that limit is reachable for me,” he confidently stated.

Eyes on Olympic Gold: Gout Targets LA 2028 and Brisbane 2032

Looking further ahead, Gout is targeting podium finishes at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles and the 2032 Olympics, which will be held in his hometown of Brisbane.

The young star is determined to be part of sprinting’s new golden era, lining up against names like Letsile Tebogo, Noah Lyles, and fellow Australian Lachlan Kennedy.

“The times I've run so far could potentially make it into finals, make the top four, top five, top six,” he said.

“Just getting better and aiming for LA obviously would be a great achievement and trying to be on that podium running against Tebogo, Noah, Lachlan Kennedy, all them athletes. That's definitely a goal in mind and keep aiming for the top.”
