Liberian-turned American sprinter Maia McCoy has disclosed one main thing she is counting on to help her clinch a ticket to the World Championships from the brutal US trials.
US sprinter Maia McCoy is oozing confidence after winning the 100m at Kip Keino Classic in Nairobi on Saturday and now feels a ticket to the World Championships is possible.
The Liberian-turned American clocked 11.21 seconds to win the race at Ulinzi Complex and says it is a great confidence booster as she builds towards the US Championships, which will be used as the trials to select the team to the 2025 World Championships.
The US trials are brutal as they bring together the very best in the world but just three tickets are available to those who finish on the podium in their respective disciplines.
