Katzberg referred to Nairobi as his "good luck charm," a place where he consistently performs well.

"Kenya feels like a second home. I launched my career here, and I always seem to achieve good results. I'm loving how my season is shaping up," he said as quoted by Athletics News.

Kenya's Dominic Abunda, a Kenya Defence Forces officer, finished eighth with a season's best of 61.50m. Despite not reaching the podium, Abunda remained positive.

“I'm happy with my season's best today, but that wasn't my ultimate goal. I was hoping to hit the World Championship qualifying mark. Competing against the Olympic champion, Ethan Katzberg, is invaluable for developing my skills," said Abunda on sharing the stage with Katzberg.
