The meet has so far attracted 155 women and 344 men.
Up and coming teen sprinter Isaac Omurwa is one of the entrants to the fourth Athletics Kenya meet scheduled for March 31 and April 1 at the Mbaraki Stadium in Mombasa.
Omurwa, who is keen on following in Africa 100m champion Ferdinand Omanyala’s footsteps will be lining up against new faces in the 100m category. The men’s 100m has so far attracted more than 60 sprinters who will take on the tough course to impress the masses.

ATHLETICS Omanyala mania attracts 707 sprint entries in Thika Athletics Kenya Meeting
100m and 200m will each have 22 Heats while 5000m will have 8 Heats.
Omurwa will be racing with the seniors for the first time after an impressive run in the junior category that saw him clinch the East Africa junior 100m title, only at 18-years-old. He was in action during the second AK meet at the Nyayo National Stadium where he obliterated a strong field of youngsters to win in the 100m.
Justine Isaboke will also be seeking for a chance of redemption as he lines up for the 100m race after a disappointing outing at the second AK meet. At the event, Isaboke could not manage a place in the final of the 100m. Richmond Mokaya will also be making a return to the track after being out for almost two years out.
The women’s 100m category has so far attracted more than 20 athletes who will be looking to make names out of themselves as they are unfamiliar faces to the masses. Linda Kageha headlines the field but she has also signed up for the 200m and long jump.

ATHLETICS Athletics Kenya set date and venue for fourth Weekend Meet
AK has advised all athletes who will be willing to participate to ensure they register on or before March 28.
Others who will be in action in the weekend meet include race walkers Stephen Ndangili and the 2019 Africa junior race walk champion Dominic Ndigiti.
Ndangili and Ndigiti will renew their rivalry once again after their clash in the third meet held at the Thika Stadium. Ndangili edged Ndigiti to third place and he shall be seeking to turn the tables round. The women’s category has Silvia Kemboi returning after her exploits at the Thika Stadium.
The 400m will also see Alfred Kipketer and Kelvin Kiprotich fight for top honours. Kipketer is the 2014 World Under-20 800m champion and he will be coming back to the track after a disappointing show at the second AK meet where he couldn’t make it to the final of the 800m.
On his part, Kiprotich also comes back after failing to reach the final in the one lap race at the second meet.

ATHLETICS Athletics Kenya postpones Africa Under 18 and 20 Championships trials, new dates revealed
The continental event is scheduled for Lusaka, Zambia.
Other events signed up for in large numbers include the 200m and 400m in both the male and female categories. The field events including long jump, Hammer, Javelin and Short Put will also be staged. The middle (800m and 1500m) and long-distance races (5000m and 10,000m) will also be held.
