Kenya Pipeline then went back for the third set recharged and claimed top honours, winning 25-14 before taking the fourth set narrowly (25-23).

Head coach Paul Gitau expressed his elation towards his team’s dominance on the pitch and observed that the match was not a walk in the park though.

“I’m very happy because so far, I have not lost any game. Our game against Rwanda was not very easy because they played with all their might and it was very challenging," said Gitau.

"But I have now mastered their way of play and I am looking forward to meeting them in the final, hopefully.”

Gitau added that if they meet in the final, things will not be very easy for his side since the Rwandans have also realised their style of play.

He also noted that he wants his players to know that any team participating in the event has come to win.

“They did not know our style of play and we didn’t know theirs too. However, I am happy and I want my players to keep in mind that things aren’t always easy,” he said.

Pipeline started their campaign on a good note, winning 3-0 in their opening match against Uganda’s Kampala Capital City Authority.

They won the first set 25-19, the second 25-15 before completing the rout with a 25-21.

In their second match, Kenya Pipeline were also in a class of their own as they annihilated Rwanda Revenue Authority 3-0 (25-20, 25-21 and 25-13).
