After an action-packed first two days, the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo continued to deliver on Monday, September 15, with a schedule packed with both qualifications and finals.
Fans were treated to another spectacle of athletic prowess as new champions were crowned and a new narrative unfolded.
The opening weekend set a high bar for the rest of the championships as it saw the crowning of the first champions, Canada's Evan Dunfee and Spain's MarÃa Pérez taking the men's and women's 35km race walk titles, respectively.

Switzerland's Ditaji Kambundji ran a flawless race to a new national record and the gold medal, in the women’s 100m hurdles, beating out the world record holder, Tobi Amusan.
