‘We Help Each Other Break Barriers’ - Faith Kipyegon Reveals How Sisterhood Has Shaped Her into Record-Breaking Machine

Faith Kipyegon is one of the athletes who have displayed remarkable sportsmanship going by how her rivals mob and embrace her every time she beats them or breaks a record.

Kipyegon has broken numerous barriers in track, especially in the 1,500m where she has broken the world record twice, and is a three-time world and Olympics champion.

The 31-year-old has created a great relationship with her competitors who speak so highly of her as her fast races have helped them also push beyond the limits and according to the 1,500m GOAT, she is also a beneficiary of the rivalry.

“In the 1,500m, we help each other break barriers or break our PBs because you know when I run fast, even Laura (Muir) also runs fast, Georgia Bell or Jessica Hull,” Kipyegon said.

“We push each other to fast times and it really helps us to improve every year. Despite what we do in sports, we have to love each other no matter what. We are competitors but at the same time we can still do fast times.”

Kipyegon first broke the 1,500m world record in June 2023 in Florence, Italy when all her rivals on the day mobbed her after the race to celebrate with the fast pace also having helped them improve their personal bests.
