Kenya remained firm to draw 1-1 with Angola in a tense African Nations Championship (CHAN) group stage tie that left fans with mixed emotions.

While the Harambee Stars remained at the top of Group A with four points, one ahead of Morocco and DR Congo, many Kenyans were left disappointed by the team's moments of poor concentration and failure to have that killer instinct.

Angola broke the deadlock in the 7th minute courtesy of Jó Paciência, with Beni making a dash down the right wing and feeding in a swift ball into the box.

Kenya quickly drew level when a VAR review led to a handball penalty being given. Austin Odhiambo did not miss from 12 yards, scoring in the 12th minute to level scores.

But. Kenya's plans to manhandle the game whole were foiled when defender Marvin Nabwire was given a straight red card in the 21st minute for knocking Paciencia down outside the box—a costly moment, an action born from a defense blunder by goalkeeper Bryne Odhiambo.

The Harambee Stars, however, proved resilient and disciplined, resolutely enduring ten men for nearly 70 minutes. The fans, though, were left aggrieved.

Here are some of the things they had to say on social media:

"They defended well, but we can't keep living on luck. A better team would have punished us."– Omondi254.

"VAR saved us today, but we shouldn't always need saving. We need to be proactive, not reactive.– @NjeriSportsFan

"Ten men or not, the defenders' error (name withheld) was schoolboy level. We need leaders at the back."– @KevMwauraK

"Austin Odhiambo can't win this team every game. Where are the others? Step up!"– @BabuFromBuru

"Proud of the hustle, but tired of the same mistakes. We ease off, we panic, then scramble. It's exhausting."– @WanjikuFutaa

Destiny hangs by a thread for Kenya with two remaining games, but more calmness, sage decision-making, and a stop to the costly blunders is what fans are craving.
