Barcelona may have crushed Valencia 6-0 on Sunday evening, but the team’s departure from the Johan Cruyff Stadium cast a shadow over an otherwise perfect night.

According to Spanish daily Marca, footage emerged showing Hansi Flick’s players leaving the 6,000-seat venue still in their playing kits, boarding a small minibus without even showering.

The report claims that the squad opted to return to the club’s training ground to wash up instead of using facilities at the stadium.

Minibus Couldn’t Fit Entire Squad

To make matters worse, the vehicle provided was not Barcelona’s usual luxury team bus but a cramped minibus that couldn’t fit the entire squad.

Marca noted that senior stars, including Robert Lewandowski, were left waiting outside for a second round of transport.

Logistical Mishaps a Result of Camp Nou’s Lack of Approval

The logistical mishap stems from Barcelona’s ongoing stadium complications. The club has yet to receive approval from the City Hall to host matches at Spotify Camp Nou, still under renovation. Their other temporary home, Montjuïc, was unavailable due to another scheduled event, forcing the Catalans to play at the Johan Cruyff Stadium.

Camp Nou’s reconstruction has already missed several promised reopening dates, including the Joan Gamper Trophy, the club’s 125th anniversary, and the start of the 2025–26 season.

Each delay has pushed the team further into makeshift solutions — and Sunday night’s awkward scenes highlighted just how disruptive the situation has become.

For a club of Barcelona’s stature, the sight of players leaving a match unshowered, kit still on, and waiting for transport outside a 6,000-capacity stadium was hardly the image fans expected after such a dominant win.
