Shariff Musa Makes Bold Promise to Gor Mahia Fans After Bagging FKFPL October Player of The Month
Gor Mahia winger Shariff Musa has vowed to repay the faith of supporters after being crowned the FKF Premier League October Player of the Month, capping off a brilliant individual run that helped the record champions maintain a perfect streak throughout the month.
Musa overcame stiff competition from AFC Leopards defender Vincent Mahiga and Gor Mahia teammates Enock Morrison and Michael Kibwage to claim the inaugural SportPesa League monthly gong.
His performances were central to Gor Mahia’s flawless record in October, where they defeated KCB, Posta Rangers, and Mathare United without dropping a point. His goal contributions and attacking influence were widely praised as K’Ogalo strengthened their early push for the SportPesa League title.
Musa Attributes Award to Consistency
Reflecting on the achievement, Musa attributed his rise to a deliberate effort to maintain discipline and continuity in his performances.
“Just belief and consistency. I was working on being consistent and it has paid off,” he said after receiving the award, which came with a customized trophy and KSh 50,000.
He also lauded the improved professionalism within the league setup, crediting the ongoing transformation—supported by sponsorship and data-driven evaluation by Tisini—for raising the bar across teams.
“For some time, they are taking things seriously, which will make the league more competitive,” he added.
The winger reserved his most heartfelt message for Gor Mahia fans, whose votes formed part of the selection process.
“Thank you so much for believing in me and voting me as your player of the month. I hope it is the first of many more, and I can continue making you guys proud.”
Musa’s award completed a Gor Mahia sweep for October, coming just days after head coach Charles Akonnor was named Coach of the Month.
The Ghanaian tactician guided the team to three clean victories and has introduced a flexible, efficient tactical approach that has quickly resonated with the squad.
With confidence high and momentum firmly on their side, Gor Mahia and Musa now turn their attention to sustaining their strong early-season form as the title race intensifies.
