Sally Bolo Urges Gor Mahia Fans To Dream Big Despite Fading FKF Premier League Title Hopes
Gor Mahia vice chairperson Sally Bolo has urged their adoring fans to continue their support for the team despite their dwindling fortunes this season.
K'Ogallo have embarked on one of their worst seasons to date after blowing hot and cold and almost look certain to stumble in their title defense.
The record Kenyan champions saw their chances of retaining the crown go up in smoke following a 0-0 draw against Murang’a Seal at SportPesa Arena on Sunday. The outcome coupled with the shock 2-1 defeat against Nairobi City Stars in the previous fixture, forced the club to part ways with coach Sinisa Mihic with immediate effect accordin to panafricafootball.
Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno to the resqcue again
The club has now been left in the hands of assistant coaches – Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno and Michael Nam – as they plan for the remaining three league matches, including Mashemeji derby against rivals AFC Leopards.
Gor Mahia will also settle scores with Ulinzi Stars before ending the season with title-chasing Kenya Police. Bolo reiterated that the fans need to continue backing the team irrespective of their poor displays.
“I want to salute the Mighty Green Army for the overwhelming support especially last Sunday in Murang’a; the stadium turned into a sea of green.
“Your passion is unmatched, and though results haven’t gone our way lately, don’t lose hope. We will review, rebuild, and return to the Gor Mahia you know, with pride, power, and purpose.
“We are not done yet. This Sunday we have the FKF Cup semi-final, and three crucial league matches remaining. We need the 12th man louder than ever so that we can finish strongly.”
Gor Mahia are currently lying third on the 18-team league table with 54 points, seven fewer than leaders Kenya Police while Tusker remain second with 55 points.
