REVEALED! Why unbeaten Sporting Lagos are in the Naija Super 8
Newly promoted NPFL club Sporting Lagos has revealed why they are playing in the preseason tournament Naija Super 8.
This came from their manager Paul Offor after he led the team to a brilliant win over neighbours Remo Stars on Tuesday.
The Tech Boys claimed all bragging rights following a deserved 2-1 win over the Sky Blues in a Group A clash.
How Sporting Lagos got in
Sporting was one of two teams handed a wildcard ticket to feature in the lucrative Naija Super 8.
The Tech Boys and Uyo-based Akwa United were the two teams given wildcards to the competition.
After two matches, both teams have looked anything but wildcards following impressive performances.
The Promise Keepers have booked a spot in the last four while Sporting are on the brink of joining them following four points from a possible six.

After their first win against Southwest rivals Remo Stars, the coach of the team, Paul Offor spoke to the media at the MJ Arena and revealed why his side agreed to feature in the tourney.
According to the tactician, his Tech Boys came to the Naija Super 8 to enjoy themselves.
“We are here to enjoy ourselves,” coach Offor stated during his post-match press conference.
“We just came back from Asaba, there is no pressure (on us). We just want to play, if we are knocked out, fine, we go on break. If not, we continue.”
More from the Sporting boss
Speaking further, Offor, who was enjoying the moment, added that the Naija Super 8 is delaying their break.
“As a matter of fact, this tournament is delaying our break,” he added.
Coach Offor and his team made history in Asaba in the NNL Super 8 Playoffs.
Sporting Lagos became the fastest club to make it to the NPFL from the NNL after the club sealed promotion in dramatic style.
The Tech Boys are the 70th team to make it to the NPFL after a brilliant outing in the Playoffs last season.
