Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that he has had concrete interest from the Brazilian Football Association to become the country’s next manager if he chooses not to continue with Los Blancos.
Brazil keen on Carlo Ancelotti
Brazil parted ways with former manager Tite after a disappointing quarterfinal exit at the 2022 FIFA World Cup via penalties against Croatia.
Since then, the Canarinho have searched to fill the vacancy with little luck and are currently stuck with interim manager Ramon Menezes at the helm.
A major reason for Brazil’s inability to fill the managerial post has been their admiration and pursuit of current Real Madrid boss, Ancelotti, who has been touted as the dressing room’s favourite to become the new manager of the national team.
Having coached players like current captain Casemiro, as well as youngsters Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo at Real Madrid, there is little surprise about Ancelotti’s popularity with the squad and the Italian manager has confirmed the rumours that he is a favourite to land the vacant job.
Ancelotti flattered by Brazil interest
Speaking ahead of Real Madrid’s LaLiga game against Real Valladolid, Ancelotti substantiated the Brazil reports and admitted he enjoyed the attention, but also maintained that he was loyal to Los Blancos’ cause and would be at the club as long as he still has a contract.
He said, “The reality is that Brazilian national team want me — and this makes me delighted, happy.
“But I want to fulfil and respect my contract. I love Real Madrid”.

Ancelotti has been coach of Real Madrid in two separate spells, and has led the club to UEFA Champions League titles in both his reigns, but he could still find himself axed by the club after a disappointing 2022/23 season so far.
When asked if he would retire at the end of the current campaign if Real Madrid decided to let him go, Ancelotti said, “Retiring after Madrid? I can’t confirm it today,” further suggesting that move to join the Brazil national team remains a serious possibility.
If Ancelotti decides to join the Sellecao, he will be the first foreign coach to handle the Brazilian national team since Argentine Filpo Nunez handled the team for one match in 1965.
