Meanwhile, Ramos has had an outstanding performance for Benfica so far this season, as he has scored 24 goals in 36 games.
In Portugal’s 6-1 win over Switzerland at the World Cup finals in Qatar, Ramos scored a hat-trick in the Round of 16 duel.
Reports now indicate that the Red Devils have shown a strong desire to sign the 21-year-old, who has also attracted interest elsewhere.
A deal of around €100 million (£87.9 million) is what Benfica is ready to accept in order to open discussions of the highly-rated star.
Reports in Portugal claim Ramos is disappointed that a new deal has not been proposed to him yet by his current club.

The club’s boss, Roger Schmidt, recently talked about the interest his star is generating and said that it is normal given his performance.
"I love his attitude, which he gives to the team," Schmidt said.
"He is young, he is scoring goals in the Champions League, and it is normal for him to attract the attention of other clubs."
Apart from Ramos, United have been linked with a move for Atalanta’s forward Rasmus Hojlund.
The 20-year-old has scored five goals in two games for Denmark during the FIFA international break.
