Mbappe's return fails to inspire PSG as Toulouse refuse to lose
French champions Paris Saint-Germain are still waiting for their first win this season despite the return of Kylian Mbappe.
Mbappe featured for the first time this season but was unable to stop Toulouse from stealing a point after a 1-1 draw on Saturday evening.
The World Cup winner started from the bench to give Les Parisiens hope before Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi turned villain late on.
Toulouse vs PSG
After the champions kicked off their title defence with boring goalless affairs at home to Lorient last weekend, Luis Enrique’s men came into the game on Saturday hoping to get off the mark.
Mbappe made the first-team squad for the first time this season after his incarceration following a transfer impasse with the club.
After a goalless start to the game, it was the French-Cameroonian star who came off the bench to break the deadlock from the spot kick.
He won the foul and converted expertly to put the visitors ahead before his friend and teammate Hakimi gifted Toulouse a lifeline late on.
The fullback fouled compatriot Zakaria Aboukhlal, who emulated Mbappe by dusting himself up to convert for a share of the spoils.
PSG remain without a win this season in Ligue 1 while manager Enrique will have to wait for another week for his first win in the Ligue 1.
