During a lighthearted quiz about pressure on the French TV show Telefoot, the defender was asked about the speculation, and with a laugh, he brought up his national team-mate, Kylian Mbappé.

First, he was asked if he spoke Spanish – to which he replied no – and then informed that the Spanish press was linking him to Real Madrid.

The interviewer then probed whether Mbappe, his national team colleague, was pressuring him to sign for the club. "Yes, Kylian calls me every two hours... no," Konate quipped playfully.

The 26-year-old defender's contract expires next year, and numerous clubs, including Real Madrid, are closely monitoring the situation of one of Europe's top central defenders.
