Harambee Stars striker Ryan Ogam may have a chance to reignite his career at Austrian club Wolfsberger AC following the appointment of a new head coach.

The club has brought in Thomas Silberberger to replace Ismail Atalan, who was dismissed after a dismal run of form that saw the team plummet towards the relegation zone.

Thomas Silberberger's primary objective is to secure WAC's position in the Austrian Bundesliga, as they currently sit just four points clear of the drop.

Potential Win for Ryan Ogam?

This managerial change could be a crucial turning point for Ryan Ogam. The 21-year-old forward found himself completely frozen out under Ismail Atalan, who took charge in November 2025.

During Atalan's brief tenure, the team managed only one victory in 13 matches, suffering eight losses and three draws.

Ryan Ogam failed to make a single first-team appearance in that period and was demoted to the youth squad. With a new manager at the helm, the young attacker will be hoping for a fresh start and an opportunity to break into the senior team for the critical final phase of the season.

In a statement announcing the change, the club expressed its belief in the new appointment. "The succession has been decided: Thomas Silberberger takes charge of the team with immediate effect. With his experience, he is expected to halt the poor run of results and secure the club’s place in the Bundesliga."

WAC confirmed that club president Dietmar Riegler informed Ismail Atalan of his dismissal on Easter Monday, citing the team's prolonged poor performance as the reason for the decision.

The incoming coach, 52-year-old Silberberger, brings extensive experience to the role. He spent over a decade at WSG Tirol, leading them from the lower leagues to the top flight and into the championship group.

His most recent post was with Admira Wacker, where he narrowly missed out on promotion last season. He is set to lead his first training session immediately as he begins the urgent task of reviving the Wolves' campaign.

Meanwhile, since signing for the Wolfsberger AC in September 2025, Ryan Ogam has already played under three different head coaches.

He originally joined the club when it was under the leadership of Manfred Nastl, who had taken over earlier that year. Following a transition in October 2025, the experienced Peter Pacult took the reins for a brief four-week stint.

The coaching carousel continued in November 2025 with the appointment of Ismail Atalan, who has since departed the club.
