This comes after his return to the Kenya national football team for the FIFA Series, where Kenya secured a bronze medal.

The Kenyan international was a dynamic presence in midfield, effectively linking play and contributing to both attack and defence as Grimsby dominated the contest.

Clarke Oduor Reacts to Returning to the Starting Lineup

Reflecting on the team's performance, Oduor highlighted their determination to bounce back. "I think everyone was definitely high from the start today, and we were all just looking to rectify the last performance, and we did that," he said.

"We kind of got the job done in the first half. We could have scored a few more goals, but at the end of the day we won and kept a clean sheet."

Grimsby Town seized control early in the match. Jaze Kabia found the net in the 23rd minute, and Harvey Rodgers extended the lead with a powerful strike nine minutes before the interval, giving the Mariners a comfortable two-goal advantage at halftime.

Clarke Oduor, the sole change to the starting lineup, replaced Jamie Walker and vindicated his selection with an energetic and disciplined display. His high work rate helped maintain the team's structure, while his movement on the left flank consistently troubled the Crawley defence.

Shortly after the break, Clarke Oduor's influence grew as he won a free kick that led to the dismissal of Crawley captain Jay Williams for a poor reaction, leaving the home side with ten men for the rest of the game.

Regarding his return to the starting team at a critical point in the season, Oduor acknowledged the personal significance and stressed the need for readiness.

"It was good, especially at this stage of the season," he commented. "I think everyone just has to be ready because when chances come, we have to try and take them, so I felt like I did that today in the 70 minutes that I was on."

The Mariners managed the second half effectively, controlling possession and neutralising any threats from the hosts. Oduor was substituted in the 70th minute as manager David Artell brought on fresh players to secure the result.
