The injury occurred following a direct collision between Adukwaw and Bandari captain Abdalla Roma, during what appeared to be a routine physical duel. The impact led to immediate pain and visible distress for the winger, forcing the match officials to halt play as medical personnel rushed to his aid.

Despite receiving emergency treatment on the pitch, the 21-year-old continued to experience severe discomfort and limited mobility in his upper arm and shoulder region.

Consequently, the player was stretchered off the field shortly after scoring the decisive goal that secured Gor Mahia’s 1–0 victory over Bandari FC — a goal that handed the club yet another major trophy.

Following the incident, Gor Mahia’s medical team swiftly moved to provide an official statement to clarify the nature of the injury and address growing speculation among supporters.

“Medical assessment and imaging confirmed a soft tissue injury to the shoulder region,” said the club team doctor Brian Odongo.

The doctor further assured fans that no fracture or severe structural damage had been detected, but he emphasized that the recovery timeline remains uncertain.

“While the diagnosis rules out more severe damage like a fracture, the player’s recovery timeline remains uncertain. He is currently under medical management, with follow-up sessions planned to monitor his recovery and determine his readiness to return to play,” Dr. Odongo added.
