Paul Ogai blamed their Gor Mahia defeat on attacking struggles while hinting at a strong response against AFC Leopards.
KCB assistant coach Paul Ogai has revealed the major undoing that led to their 1-0 loss against Gor Mahia in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League match at the Dandora Stadium last weekend.
KCB were handed a defeat by the 21-time champions, with Felix Oluoch Mboya finding the back of the net in the hotly contested match.
KCB were off to a great start in their campaign, securing a 2-0 win over Tusker FC before losing to Mathare United 1-0. The Bankers then bounced back, claiming a 1-0 win over Kariobangi Sharks before falling to Gor Mahia in their recent encounter.

Paul Ogai: KCB Lost to Gor Mahia Due to Weak Attacking
Paul Ogai explained that they have a solid defence but admitted that without scoring goals, they cannot be able to make any progress.
He pointed out that they will take their time to strengthen their attack ahead of a clash against AFC Leopards, who are also seemingly struggling to prove a point.
“We expected to win because we knew Gor Mahia is a good side, but to be precise, we wanted to win this game badly and go on top of the table and come back stronger with the main focus on our attack,” Paul Ogai said.

Harambee Stars goalkeeper Farouk Shikhalo has explained how CHAN 2024 has changed Kenyan football, and why Gor Mahia are lucky to have Byrne Omondi.
“Our attackers did not click well, and we need to work on our attack and which is an area that we shall work on during our rest period. This season, we don’t want to participate, and if we really want to contend, we really need to work more. We expect to win matches and see what happens.
“Our defence is great, but our main undoing is our attack, and we have to score more goals than our opponents, and the main focus is on attack.”
As the Bankers look to win the trophy at the end of the season, Paul Ogai believes addressing their offensive struggles is key to turning results around in upcoming matches.
