Ambrose Rachier Re-elected as Gor Mahia Chairman to Extend Historic 17-Year Reign
Veteran Gor Mahia official Ambrose Rachier has once again earned the trust of club members by securing re-election as chairman of the record FKF Premier League champions.
Rachier garnered 658 votes, defeating his only challenger Dolphina Achieng, who received 456 votes in a tightly contested election held on Sunday afternoon.
The elections held at the Nyayo National Stadium were not without its share of drama.

Proceedings were briefly disrupted after police fired teargas to disperse unruly crowds sending fans and delegates fleeing in confusion.
Despite the chaos, the election went on, marking a significant moment in the club’s governance following a directive from the Sports Disputes Tribunal (SDT) to hold fresh polls.
In other results, Sally Bolo was elected as the new Vice Chairperson, having secured 610 votes against Victor Mbaka, who garnered 488.
Bolo returns to the club’s leadership after a previous stint as treasurer and is expected to bring her experience and passion for football back to the executive team.

The Secretary General position saw Nick Arum clinch victory with 582 votes, beating incumbent Sammy Ochola who received 501 votes. A
Meanwhile, the result for the Honorary Treasurer seat has been announced.
The contest was between Gerphas Ogola and Philip Nyakwana, with Ogola winning 527 votes while Nyakwana recorded 524
The delay followed a legal challenge earlier in the year by member Bernard Agewa Omolo, which prompted the SDT’s directive for timely elections.
The Gor Mahia Electoral Board, which oversaw the elections, was chaired by Gichu Wahome and included members Prof. Ben Sihanya, Henry Ogoye, Prof. Omondi Oketch, and Rose Lilian Otili Anyango.
This was the second time Gor Mahia has held elections since the inaugural polls in 2020.
