It was a bad day at the office the last time as Barcelona and their fierce rivals Real Madrid both suffered defeats in the LaLiga.
Both sides were taken to the cleaners by Rayo Vallecano and a rampant Girona inspired by the now famous Taty Castellanous.
Week 32 is action-packed in the Spanish LaLiga which kicks off on Friday night with an interesting encounter between Osasuna and Real Sociedad.
However, the key question heading into what is expected to be a pulsating and interesting one in the league is an expected one - will Barcelona and Real bounce back from there embarrassing defeats?
With that question to ponder on, here are five things to expect in the exciting LaLiga this weekend.
Rayo to feast on Elche
After an incredible performance that saw them shock league leaders Barcelona in midweek, all eyes will be on Rayo Vallecano when they take on bottom of the table club, Elche.
The win over the Catalans saw Rayo move up to ninth on the LaLiga table with 43 points, just 11 points off their best ever tally in the League.
With a trip to Elche, who are rooted to the foot of the table and without a win or draw in the last six matches, expect the visitors to feast by consolidating on that brilliant victory against Barca even though their head-to-head suggest a potential close battle.
Real Madrid and Barcelona to bounce back
It was usual to see these two rivals lose on the same matchday but that was what happened when they conceded a combined five goals to Rayo and Girona in midweek.
The two gaints will be looking to return to winning ways as quickly as possible when they take to the pitch on Saturday.
Both teams will be playing at home with Los Blancos taking to the pitch first when they lock horns with Umar Sadiq’s former club UD Almeria before their rivals Barcelona welcome Real Betis later on to Camp Nou.
While these are two tricky games, i expect the Catalans and the giant from the capital to pick up the necessary wins.
Relegation fireworks
On Sunday, the city of Cadiz will witness a tense battle between two sides looking to distant themselves from the danger zone.
Cadiz host Valencia in a tie between two teams separated by just one point, who could find each other drop into the relegation zone if they fail to take three points in this game.
Cádiz have already defeated Los Che this league season, when a Rubén Alcaraz goal earned them a 1-0 win at Mestalla, so they’ll look to complete the double while the vistors set their sight on revenge.
Samuel Chukwueze to continue superb form
The Nigeria Super Eagles star will be the cynosure of all eyes when Villarreal host Celta Vigo at the Estadio de la Ceramica on Sunday.
Chukwueze has been in an excellent form this season for the Yellow Submarine, with six goals and five assists in the LaLiga this season.
While he did not assist or score in the last outing, the 23-year-old was at his creative best as Villarreal thrashed Espanyol 4-2.
He created four chances and made four key passes and with the in-demand Real Madrid target set to step out at the same venue this weekend when Celta come calling, he will be hoping his teammates can reward his creativity with at least an assist this time.
Castellanos show in Seville
After that incredible display against defending Champions Real Madrid the last time, you should know that if nobody else pays attention to what happens in Seville on Monday night, Los Blancos fans will.
Taty Castellanos and Girona upset the apple cart when they defeated Real 4-2 in midweek with the on-loan star becoming the first player to score four goals in a single game this season.
Castellanos will have to prove that the performance against Real isn’t a one-off for him and Girona when they visit Sevilla at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez.
