Sergio Busquets’ current contract with Barcelona is due to expire at the end of the season and Manager Xavi has made no secret of his desire to have the midfield metronome at the cub for at least another year.
Busquets close to Barca extension
Barcelona formally offered him an extension last month reportedly worth €7 million a year with an option for an additional twelve months based on the number of appearances he makes.
The 34-year-old was believed to be taking his time with the offer as he assessed his other options.
Now, according to reports from Spanish outlet AS, Busquets has informed people within the dressing room that he will accept the contract offer to remain in Spain for another year.

Good news for Xavi
This move is set to come as a big relief for Xavi and Barcelona as they have tried and failed to find a suitable replacement for Busquets.
