Canada took advantage of Shujaa being down to six men in the second half following a yellow card.

Kenya 7s will have to wait at least another 12 months to qualify for the HSBC World Rugby sevens series circuit after a heartbreaking 12-7 loss to Canada in Twickenham, London relegated them from among World Rugby 7's core teams.

Kenya nearly had an early hiccup when Canada nearly bursted down the left flank to deliver the try, but Billy Odhiambo tracked and won the ball back.

Moments later, Nelson Oyoo would put Shujaa ahead through Nelson Oyoo when he teared down the right flank before touching the ball down before it was well converted.

Canada equalized just before the break following a good line break which was well converted.

Kenya had their work cut out after losing two of their main men after the break , including the on form Kevin Wekesa.

Okoth chased back Canada as they were through on goal, denying them a clear try scoring opportunity.

The game was clearly end to end as both sides were beginning to show their desperation in efforts to survive with three minutes left to play.

Kenya went down to 6 men when Johnstone Olindi received a yellow card, being suspended for two minutes for an infringement.

Canada went ahead with a minute to go through winger Alex Russel taking advantage of their man advantage.

We fall short at the final hurdle.
