Boost For Embu 7s as it Seals Multi-Million Sponsorship For Weekend Rugby Spectacle
Embu is set to make history this weekend as it hosts its first-ever National Sevens Circuit leg at the Njukiri Showground, powered by a Ksh. 3 million Tusker sponsorship.
Local organisers have expressed confidence in their preparations, promising a smooth tournament and an unforgettable experience for both players and fans.
“This support from Tusker is a big boost for us as hosts. It allows us to put together a well-organized tournament, welcome teams and fans from across the country, and showcase Embu as a proud rugby destination,” said Norman Mutai, Deputy Tournament Director of Embu Sevens.

Under the deal, Embu RFC will receive Ksh. 1.5 million in cash for logistics, while the rest will enhance the fan experience with activations at the Tusker Village and an official afterparty.
Tusker Sports Brand Manager Keza Mpyisi hailed the partnership, saying:

“After the success of Driftwood, Prinsloo and Christie, we are excited to now head to Embu and continue this journey.”
Big Teams Set for Njukiri Showground
The tournament comes days after the Christie Sevens in Nairobi, where KCB Rugby defeated Menengai Oilers 17-5 in the final to win their eighth Christie title and strengthen their lead in the 2025 National Sevens Circuit standings.
