The Kenyan ladies have been the most successful team winning four titles since the event was started in 2014.

The national ladies’ cricket team has confirmed participation at the ninth edition of the Kwibuka Women’s T20 tournament from June 9 to 17 at the Gahanga Cricket Stadium in Rwanda.

The Kenyan team finished second at last year’s event and will be looking to go one better as they face off against other great teams that will be gracing the event.

They will be up against the hosts, Uganda, Botswana, and Nigeria. Kenya will be hoping to shine since the defending champions, Tanzania, will not be taking part in this year’s edition of the event.

The Kenyan ladies have been the most successful team winning four titles since the event was started in 2014. They won in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2021 before they were beaten to the title during last year’s event.

The team was off to a false start at the Victoria Women’s T20 series where they finished fifth after losing all their matches. Uganda emerged as champions after winning three of their matches and losing one.

They go into the tournament psyched up to record another major win. They finished third during last year’s edition of the tournament and will also be hoping for a better display.

On their part, Rwanda finished fourth and will be looking to redeem themselves on home soil. At the Victoria Women’s T20 series, they also finished fourth after winning two of their matches.
