HOCKEY: Ex international Fredrick Masibo takes charge of Women Super League upstart Twinkle

The WSPL side have has confirmed the appointment of the experienced mentor as their new head coach.

Former Kenya international Fredrick Masibo has joined Women Super League side Twinkle Hockey Club who are looking to be promoted to Premier League.

Masibo fills the vacant position that was left vacant when coach Charity Miller and Twinkle parted ways five days ago.

Since Miller left, Emmanuel Wiswa has been acting as the head coach for the club, currently placed second on the WPL standings.

Twinkle CEO Samuel Mwangi welcomed the appointment of Masibo, hoping he will help the club to achieve the set goals.

“We are delighted to have Fredrick Masibo join our team. His experience and dedication to the sport make him an invaluable asset to our club. 

We look forward to the positive impact he will have on our team and the success that we will achieve together,” Mwangi said.

While accepting the appointment, Masibo acknowledged the task ahead at his new workstation.

“I am honoured to join the Twinkle Hockey Club as Head Coach and look forward to working with the team to achieve their goals. I am excited to bring my knowledge and expertise to the team and help them grow both on and off the field,” said Masibo.

Masibo brings over 15 years of coaching experience to his new role, having previously served as the coach for the Blue Eaglets Ladies’ team, which competed in the African Club Championships held in Abuja in 2008. 

He also had a successful tenure as the coach for the Kenya Police team, where he played a pivotal role in their recent accomplishments. 

His most recent job was with Kenya National Junior Women’s team and National Women’s team, where he led them to compete in the tournament in Egypt and the World Cup qualifiers in Baku, respectively.
