Attention has shifted to the tartan track at Nyayo National Stadium as Kenya races against time to have it ready for the Kip Keino Classic by the end of May.
Kenya is racing against time to have stadiums ready not just for the 2024 Africa Nations Championships (CHAN 2024) but also for athletics events.
Nyayo and Kasarani Stadiums have been closed for renovations since last year with a focus on being ready for CHAN 2024 that will be staged in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania in August.
However, the two facilities also have the only World Athletics-approved tracks, meaning key athletics events can only be held there.
