The Muhoroni-based side are 16th on 26 points with two matches left to play.

Wazito FC head coach Charles Odera believes safety is still far from secure despite his side's famous 2-1 win over title-chasing Tusker in their last FKF Premier League fixture a fortnight ago.

The Muhoroni-based side are fairly new in the top-tier competition, having made their debut in 2018. Their best league performance came in the 2020/2021 season when they secured a ninth-place

 under Francis Kimanzi.

Looking ahead to their next fixture against Bidco United, head coach Charles Odera acknowledges the positive impact the win against Tusker has had on his team.

“The victory has relieved some of the pressure on us. We have managed to create a four-point gap between us and Mathare United, and my players now have a bit more confidence in their ability to beat the next opponent,” Odera said.

The former APS Bomet tactician insists that the fight to remain in the FKF Premier League is far from over, and his team must maintain focus on the task at hand.

“We are yet to be safe, we have to keep displaying that fighting spirit for both our remaining fixtures and also the possible play-off match that we are fighting so hard to secure. ”

Wazito will play Bidco in their penultimate Premier League fixture on Sunday, June 25. Should Wazito beat the Thika-based outfit and Mathare fail to get a result against Ulinzi, they will have secured a promotion play-off place against the third-placed side from the second tier.
