No Pogba, no problem for Juventus as the Old Lady cruise to a win over a stubborn Lazio side
Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba might have grabbed the pre-game headlines with his doping controversy, but in his absence, Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic was in exceptional form to see the Old Lady past a tough Lazio side.
Vlahovic scored twice for Juventus as they beat Lazio 3-1, with Federico Chiesa also scoring for the Old Lady and Luis Alberto scoring what proved to be a consolation goal.
How it happened
Juventus started the match at a frantic pace despite being shrouded in controversy before it, and it only took 10 minutes for Vlahovic to open the scoring after being played through on goal by Manuel Locatelli.

The Old Lady threatened to blow their opponents away in the opening half-hour with Chiesa doubling Juventus’ lead with a low, left-footed drive after 26 minutes.
The halftime break offered Lazio some reprieve from the onslaught, and the visitors returned from the break a totally different side.
As Juventus protected their lead, Lazio fought hard to bring themselves back into the game and were rewarded with a goal when Luis Alberto scored a stunning effort from outside the penalty area, which left Wojciech Szczesny with no chance.
Any hopes of a Lazio fightback were soon quenched when Vlahovic found the net for the second time, just three minutes after Luis Alberto’s goal to make it 3-1 to the hosts.
Juventus held on for the win and are now top of the Serie A table with 10 points from a possible 12, although either Inter and Milan who face off later today can leapfrog the Old Lady with a win.
