Eric Johana Omondi was denied a potential award-winning goal by VAR after netting a screamer for Romanian top flight side UTA Arad.

Harambee Stars winger Eric Johanna Omondi was denied a wonder goal for his club Uta Arad in a Romania Liga 1 Relegation Group match on Monday night.

Johana played the full 90 minutes, contributing actively to his team's efforts.

However, a moment of controversy arose in the 55th minute when Johana's goal was disallowed due to an alleged handball.

Despite this setback, Uta Arad managed to secure a 1-1 draw against Petrolul, with Micovshi Claudiu leveling the score seven minutes from time.

Uta Arad is set to host Otelul Galati in their upcoming match on Thursday.

Onyango shines in defensive midfield for Everton

In England, Harambee Stars prospect Tyler Onyango showcased his versatility by playing the full 90 minutes for Everton U21 against Leeds United.

Onyango, primarily a central midfielder, was deployed in an unfamiliar central defensive role. Despite the positional change, Onyango put in a commendable performance as Everton U21 secured a 1-1 draw against Leeds United.

Mohammed Katia Kouyate scored for Everton in the 14th minute, while Charlie Allen equalized for Leeds in the 45th minute. Everton U21 is scheduled to face Derby County in their next match on Monday night.

Babu rocks the bench

Meanwhile, Timothy ‘Babu’ Ouma was an unused substitute for IF Elfsborg in a Swedish top-flight game against Kalmar FF. Despite Ouma's absence from the pitch, the match saw Kalmar FF secure a 2-1 victory with goals from Dino Islamovic and Simon Skrabb.

Simon Hedlund scored a consolation goal for IF Elfsborg. Babu and his team will look to bounce back in their upcoming league match against Norrkoping on Thursday.
