Nairobi United defender John Otieno has dedicated his inspired performance during their famous 2-1 win over Gor Mahia on Sunday to clinch the FKF Cup to his fallen mother and grandmother.
Otieno, who also won the trophy with Kakamega Homeboyz in 2023, has been getting his career back together after going through a huge challenge in his personal life, and being awarded the man of the match during their win over Gor Mahia was reward for it.
Goals by Frank Ouia and Enock Mashaka were enough to give them the victory, as they silenced Gor Mahia to make history by becoming the second ever NSL side since Mathare United to win the Cup and secure themselves a place in next season’s Confederation Cup.
