Ulinzi Stars set to revitalize their squad with new recruits and returning players for the second leg of FKF Premier League.

Ulinzi Stars FC head coach Anthony Modo Kimani has expressed a renewed sense of optimism as the team gears up for the second leg of the 2023/2024 Football Kenya Federation Premier League season.

With the transfer window set to open from January 8 to February 8, 2024, the Soldiers are poised to bolster their squad with new recruits and welcome back players from military training.

Ulizni Stars, currently languishing in 15th place with just 17 points from 17 matches, suffered a 1-0 defeat to AFC Leopards in their last match of the first leg.

This disappointing performance has put a spotlight on the team's urgent need for reinforcement.

"Fortunately, the transfer window opens tomorrow, providing us with an opportunity to strengthen a few areas where we need more personnel. In the upcoming matches, you'll see new faces who will hopefully provide what we've been missing in the first leg," said coach Kimani, highlighting the team's strategy for the upcoming games.

Among the anticipated new faces is Stanley Waswa, a promising striker from St. Anthony's Boys Kitale, who has been training with the Soldiers.

Moreover, the team is set to receive a significant boost with the return of striker Masita Masuta and midfielder Bernard Ongoma, who have completed special military training at the Recruits Training School in Eldoret.

"Some players who were away for special military training have rejoined us. Bernard Ongoma and Masita Masuta, to name a couple, are players with significant quality and experience in the Premier League. Hopefully, they will bring what we've been lacking in the first leg," coach Kimani remarked, emphasizing the value of their return.

Ulinzi Stars' approach reflects a blend of nurturing young talent and relying on the seasoned expertise of their returning players.

The team's strategy seems to be focused on striking a balance between youthful vigor and experienced poise, a combination that could prove crucial in their quest to climb up the league table.

The addition of new players, coupled with the return of key individuals from military training, offers a beacon of hope for the team and its supporters.

As the second leg of the season unfolds, all eyes will be on Ulinzi Stars to see if these strategic moves pay off and help them recover from their current slump.
