Former Gor Mahia trio of Dennis Ng’ang’a, John Ochieng’ and David ‘Calabar’ Owino registered mixed outcomes for their respective Zambian Super League sides on Saturday.

Former Gor Mahia pair of John Ochieng’ and Dennis Ng’ang’a started for Zanaco FC but could not help them get their first win of 2024 as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Forest Rangers in a Zambian Super League clash that took place on Saturday.

Erick Chomba put Forest into the lead in the 28nd minute with a deftly-taken strike into the back of the net, giving them the lead into the break.

Zanaco did however restore parity in the 58th minute through Chawanangwa Kaongwa after they had sustained pressure to fight back right after the break.

In the end, both sides would have to settle for a point to keep them in 10th place in the league.

In another encounter that took place on Saturday, David ‘Calabar’ Owino played a crucial role in helping Napsa Stars beat Green Buffaloes 2-1 to get all three points and keep their battle against relegation alive.

Napsa went ahead in the 13th minute through Musonda Kapembwa when he caused panic in the Green Buffaloes defense with a spectacular tap-in.

Keegan Zulu could have made it two with a diving header that went slightly wide in the 26th minute.

Green Buffaloes however restored parity when they took advantage of a slip in concentration by Napsa to level matters heading into the break.

Whatever talk they had in the dressing room at halftime must have worked, as Napsa took the lead again right after the break.

Pinoki Vuvu Pastheli punished the visiting team by extending the lead with a cleverly taken shot into the back of the net.

Buffaloes pushed for an equalizer but could not get it and in the end, they got all the three points to cap off a good weekend.
