A Tusker win means that Gor Mahia needs just a single point to clinch their 21st league title on Sunday.

Record FKF Premier League champions Gor Mahia are just one point away from clinching their 21st league title after Tusker FC edged Kenya Police 1-0.

The result now means that second-placed Tusker can collect a maximum of nine points till the end of the season while K’Ogalo currently possess an eight point buffer at the summit of the log.

The Brewers victory also meant that Robert Matano’s side pipped Police on the log standings as they ascended to second on 56 points, two more than the Law Enforcers.

Former Gor Mahia defender Charles Momanyi handed a helping hand to his former side as his lone strike of the game was enough to settle the contest staged at the Police Sacco Stadium in South C, Nairobi.

Salim Babu’s men have now suffered back-to-back defeats after suffering an identical loss to AFC Leopards in a midweek fixture.

Prior to the Ingwe loss, Babu had maintained an unbeaten record since taking over the reins from Zdravko Logarusic at the turn of the year.

K’Ogalo are set to take on Muhoroni Youth on Sunday with a win enough to secure their second consecutive title.

Makwatta on fire

Former Zesco United forward John Mark Makwatta extended his hot streak for Kariobangi Sharks as he netted a brace in the 2-1 win over relegation-threatened Shabana FC.

Justine Omwando handed Tore Bobe the lead after 26 minutes, with the goal enough to see them take the advantage into the halftime break.

Sharks however left it late with that man again Makwatta netting two goals in three minutes with the first coming 11 minutes before the 90th minute.

Since joining the club in the mid-season transfer window, Makwatta has bagged 13 goals and is just two shy of joint top scorers Tito Okello and Benson Omalla.

Posta win

Elsewhere at the Police Sacco Stadium, Posta Rangers claimed a 2-1 win over reigning FKF Cup champions Kakamega Homeboyz.

Homeboyz needed just 10 minutes to break the deadlock through Brian Eshihanda who rose highest to guide Farouk Musisi's delivery into the net.

Posta rallied from behind in the second half with former Homeboyz midfielder Shami Mwinyi restoring parity 10 minutes after the break.

Felix Oluoch was on hand to seal all the three points for the Mailmen in the 68th minute to leave them just a point off top four.
