Njuguna had not scored or assisted this season until his belter of a goal against KCB capped off a good day for the Alemen.

Tusker attacking midfielder John Njuguna has expressed relief at scoring his first goal of the season for Tusker after scoring the fifth goal of their 5-0 rout of KCB on Sunday.

Njuguna combined well with fellow substitute Ibrahim Joshua before unleashing a ferocious shot into the back of the net to complete a good day for the Alemen.

Speaking to the club’s media channel following their win, Njuguna, a youth product  of the Ruaraka-based outfit, expressed his delight at having been able to finally find his scoring touch back.

“I have been looking for that goal but have to embrace a lot of patience knowing it would eventually come,” Njuguna said.

“I was however wondering if I would get to score so I thank God it finally happened.”

Njuguna believes that his maiden goal of the season will allow him to build from there if he is to achieve his personal and long term objectives as a player at the club.

“Starting the season with a goal gives me more motivation to keep pushing myself because the team now is trying to fight back to get to where it should be.

“It is just about keeping on, working hard and asking God to keep helping me.”

“I dedicate this goal to myself because I have worked hard for it and I am grateful that I managed to get it.”

Njuguna returned to the club in 2021 from Ulinzi Stars, having been part of the Youth team in 2016 and 2017 and  penned a two-year contract to return to the Ruaraka-based club.
